What better way to start off our 2013 series than in celebration of the works and life journey of recently belated Jayne Cortez? It was an inspiring, exciting and blessed evening to say the least! Thank you to all who made it out. A special thank you to Michael Knight for providing the musical fire and smooth vibes again this season and to The College Inn for hosting us monthly. ~A local featured poet will be selected for November again this year. So come out and share some of your original works. We are also looking for participants for the outdoor National Poetry Month Celebration at Marian Wright Edelman Public Library on April 13th. (We will be reading/performing works from the Harlem Renaissance. Students from area school districts will share open poetry prior.) Contact email@MEKAarts.org if you are interested in participating in any of the upcoming events!
